TREND ALERT!! Multi Color Nails!!

Dear Polishers,

It's summer and everybody is having a colorful life, okay.... maybe just a colorful nails! From fashion runaway to celebrities, Reality Star to Rockstar, everybody in Tinseltown is wearing multicolor nails! From one color statement to gradation/rainbow nails

Check out who's you favorite celebrities who's getting the color fever!!

Miss Hudgens "SECRETLY" telling she's in a relationship with her ring finger... cough(joshhutcherson)cough! We love it better that the purity ring (not that I have anything against it), and why she always get the cool guys?!

Laguna Beach sweetheart, Lauren Conrad does two tones colors! Red and blue with glitter topcoat scream "PARTY IN THE USA"

Rihanna, the good girl gone bad make a bold statement with her standing out black middle finger. Is she telling Chris Brown to f*ck off... who knows!

Last but not least.... the dirtiest. bitchiest, loveliest cast of our pretty little liars! I see people love to put another color in their ring fingers... it's funny and we're making statement(although i'm not sure what statement it is) by putting one standout color...

I did it on Oscar Night and would love to do it again since there's too many good color to wear in 10 nails!

Until then, Happy Polishing!

How It All Happen... My Love of Nail Polish

Dear Polishers,

I never tell you the story how I get hooked on nail polish, but I think it's almost the same like everyone else. Either when we're trying to look cool while hanging out with our grown up sisters or when we're pretending we're a grown up woman just like our beautiful mom. Well, me...., I'm just a kid, but mom sometimes put lipstick on my lips, or put nail polish on my little fingers (which looked like baby carrots). Sometimes, the teacher scolded me for wearing nail polish to school. But that's not the time when I really hooked up on nail polish. It was when I was in my nephews house. I probably counted as one of the youngest since my other cousins are 4 or 5 years older than me. When you're in that age, you'll try to impress them by doing what they do.

Then one day. I heard my cousins start to beg to go to this mall and they look on their secrecy language code. I'm confused yet curious about their sudden panicked. Then I said what's going on, but they of course wouldn't tell me their little secret but I founded they're planning to go to this mall and want to do something there. As a kid, I have my bargain power. I was doing something: being sweet while doing that puppy eyed thing... and as usual. It worked.

So, I was accompanying them to the mall when they got into this little shop. I knew this shop as the place where I usually bought my Sailor Moon cards. (Yeap... I collect Sailor Moon cards until today! LOL) I was hooked on the cards and wish to buy it again when I see my cousins stand in the different side of the shop, chit-chatting while trying something. Out of curiosity, I walked to them and find out they're coloring their nails with this little bottle of nail polish. But what got me was the fact that it wasn't a red or pink polish like my mom usually gives me. It has lots of colors on it! Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, Yellow, Glitters, and others that I couldn't mention. Then I get this over-excitement feeling rushing on my self. I left the Sailor Moon cards and start to bother my cousins. I told them to put one color to my nails and my sister put a pastel purple to my nail. The feeling was magical... seeing the color in my nail. I didn't buy anything, but the experience really caught me and the next day, I went back to the mall and bought two nail polish for me. A blue pastel pearly and a pastel green pearly.

Year after year... I grown up and start to use nail polish on my toe nails since it's the only spot the teacher wouldn't see. I look at the magazine and remember seeing Sally Hansen advertisment and OPI Ford collection. I wish to have them, but I can't buy them since they're very expensive, although, I still love them and manage to buy a few color. Not to mention when I was watching "Aquamarine" (Emma Robert, Sara Paxton, and Jojo's movie which is a fun movie!) where the mermaid have this mood changing color nail! Wish I had one right now....

Then it happens until I graduate and my friend, Dika, introduce me to this seller that sold OPI in cheaper price than the actual retail price and thanks to Tim Burton who inspired OPI to make a collection abot his Alice in Wonderland movie! Since I have a job and I have my own money... I start to buy nail polish until now.

Back then... this is my collection....

But Now... they're multiplying!

Hopefully they multiply as fast as they could since I start to get bored with their colors (:p). But still.... They're my babies and always be my babies.

Until then, Happy Polishing!

NAILheartINK

BREAKING NEWS! Hereby Hereby... Butter London is here (and the great RBL!)

Dear Polishers,

Have you ever heard about people's saying that one thing lead to another? Well if you haven't, you should! Because I'm gonna tell a great story about that phrase!

So... last time, I was surfin on the internet to find out about the latest color and something caught my eyes!

Thanks to Miss Lipglossiping for the lovely swatch! I adore your nail!

I mean... this is too brilliant! Making nail polish to celebrate the royal wedding?! Just perfect.

Suddenly, there's this feeling that tickled me to check on Butter London Website. I have a knack on Butter London. I always fascinated by their name choices for their products and they have a lovely packaging and a lovely website to surf, although their color samples are ANNOYING! Then... I click the location part, because I remember Dika (one of my bestfriend who's the one who woke the tiger inside me.... by telling me where to buy pricey polish with better price! Yes Dika! It's your fault!) telling me that Butter London isn't made by the British but by the Americans... (Very ironic). I'm checking whether what she tells the truth. So I scroll down and check every locations where you can find Butter London Polish... and I scroll.... scroll.... scroll... scroll..... Until I froze!

There's this sound in my head start banging.... "What's that? Did I read it wrong?" and then my heart jump.... I freaked out and BBM Dika right away!

"Fuck, Dika! Butter London is sold in INDONESIA! Fuck!!"

I remember back then, Dika show me an advertisement about this nail saloon... I'm being skeptic by saying... "seriously? Aren't they like lying to public by putting that nail polish?" (Turns out I'm end up as being the jerk)

Then We start panicking and try to contact Tribeca and I'm being like on of those fanatic fans that stalking this TriBeCa saloon. (I was pathetic back then) Luckily.... They did give us a quick response. So... in the end.I end up chatting with TriBeCa and asking about their Butter London Polishes availability.

It disappoint me when I found out that Waitey Katie is only for USA market. So I end up not buying any Butter London Polish because I couldn''t find the perfect color, But... since I want to buy something from TriBeCa. I did buy RBL Anne from Henry Tudor's Wives collection.

Thanks miss All Lacquered Up for the beautiful pictures!

The point of my story is... I'm giving a salute for TriBeCa. I mean... even Butter London Phillipinne doesn't get any spot in Butter London Official Website! So.... right now I'm a fan of This TriBeCa Saloon!

Since They're so nice to me, I want to give em review about their saloon and their great hospitality! But that'll do in the next post!

Until then, Happy Polishing!

BREAKING NEWS! How to store your nail polish

Dear Polishers,

Today I just go a message from my dear friend (whom people used to call her my twin) She said, "Is it true? That you should keep your polish in your refrigerator?!"

I just laugh about it and said... "What crap are you eating up too?!" and then I explain it to her that it should be place in a cool place. Like room with air conditioning (since our country is a tropical country and jakarta definetly is on hot place) But then it hit me back... cool place. Isn't a fridge is a cool place?!

So I start digging on the internet and found an article in oprah online. "How to store you nail polish."

pic source: whatwouldednasay.com

Basically Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, executive vice president of OPI, said that putting your nail polish in fridge could help reduce discoloration because the cold keep the pigment together. While instead putting it up, you might considered putting it back front, (cap's under, bottom's up) so the pigment mixes easier.

But then again. As you can see that polish contain flammable chemical. There's a chance that while you store it in the fridge, when you open it, it will explode. Which of course we're all trying to prevent that!

So...the point of the story is... although my friend's right, in the end... I'm also right that better put your polish in room (with aircon of course) rather than the fridge!

Until then, Happy Polishing!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Start with an apologize...

Dear Polishers,

First, I would say happy new year to all readers! Happy New and Chinnese New Year...

Second of all, I would like to apologize because I'm not updating this blog... Since there's so much thing going around (I'm building my little emppire of nail polish shop), so I decided to write back. Of course one of the reason is the encouragement of my college friend. It's always nice to hear some positive comment from someone you never expected to.

There's so much to update, but so little time to write....

Being blogger is very demanding...

Until then, Happy Polishing!

ACK!!!!! It's an accident!!!!!

Dear Polishers,

It's my unlucky day...

I was at the gym. I've just done a good polish a few days ago and that day, I don't know why, It's the first time I run at the bathroom when suddenly I trip! It was hurt so bad... and when I said it hurts, I don't lie...

At first... I just feel something burning in my toes. I don't know... I just thought that maybe it's the effect of hitting the ceramic step floor too hard. (It scared me if I had another sprained thumb) But after a few minute, I began to get suspicious because the "after burn feel" didn't vanished. So... I'm checking it again and found something scary.

My nail was separating from it skin and flapped up to me.... GOD!!!!

I'm walking and I realize there's blood dripping from it and I scares me if something happen because I can't see what's really happen thanks to the polish that cover the nail surface... T.T

Luckily, my sister has an experience on giving first aid treatment. So she treated me and my thumb right away.

You guys should see what it looks like!

Until I'm healing, Happy Polishing!

BREAKING NEWS! WHAT IS 3FREE ANYWAY?!

Dear Polishers,

Morning guys, I just read my twitter when my friend, Anin, wrote in her twitter

"U need to tell us what's 3free ;)"

(Before I continue, I was having a nostalgic moment about how Anin and I met through my high school friend. I was looking for a designer and there she is... jumping almost become my saviour of the day if my boss didn't ruin her chance. We've meet once and suddenly... INSTANT CONNECTION! I talk longer than I used to talk to my high school friend)

So, back to business, i was like... I'm kinda a douche talking about 3free but didn't tell you guys what's a 3free. Well so i decided to talk about 3 free polish!

Mostly, my guidance is from miss ALU, You can read it from her blog, for complete information but I'll just copy paste it from her blog... although with some edit here and there.

Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) is a plasticiser to prevent chips and cracks. It's oily liquid you find in some polish. Not evaporate easily into the atmosphere.

Over 75% of DBP is used as a plasticiser in polymers such as PVC, 14% is used in adhesives, 7% in printing inks and 3% in other miscellaneous uses, including cosmetics.

Formaldehyde does not exist in nail polish. It is used in some nail hardeners but not in the actual polish. A resin, tosylamide/formaldehyde resin, makes the polish tough and resilient.

According to miss All Lacquered Up, it isn’t actually an issue unless you have a reaction to the formaldehyde resin. The bottom line, you should be aware of formaldehyde in your treatment products, not polish.

Toluene (methylbenzene, toluol, phenylmethane) is a solvent that makes the polish easy to apply. It is an aromatic hydrocarbon commonly used as an industrial solvent for the manufacturing of paints, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and rubber.

Toluene is found in gasoline, acrylic paints, varnishes, lacquers, paint thinners, adhesives, glues, rubber cement, airplane glue, and shoe polish. At room temperature, toluene is a colorless, sweet smelling, volatile liquid.

So i guess if your polish smells, it might be the effect of this chemical.

Why are they bad?

according to miss ALU:

I’m not convinced that they are bad. I really think this is something each person should decide for themselves. There are risks and effects caused by exposure to each of these chemicals. But, whether or not limited exposure to polish will actually result in those effects is yet to be determined. I don’t feel it is my place to make that call so I choose to present you with the info I’ve found so you can make up your own mind

According to me:

I think it does give some effect on your nails. I remember using those cheap nail polish for more than a week and i realize my nails become yellow. But when I use the 3free brand, i didn't find yellow nails.

IN INDONESIA:

It's rare to find 3free polish. There was this brand called "wild and crazy" once sold in C&F Perfume shop for only 39.000idr back in 2007, but now... you could only find it on special occasion and promo. Last time I bought it for 35.000 idr, but then I buy it for buy 1 get 1 promo. (But too bad there's only a very limit option!) So right now, if you want to find a 3free polish, OPI is the only option (with high price!) But... some sacrifice has to be made. Or... you could find alternative by buying from the internet online shop. You can buy OPI a lot of cheaper than the price in t store.

So... what do you think. Still want to use the usual nail polish or moved to the 3free or even 4free(I'll tell u later about the 4free polish)?!

Until then, Happy Polishing!

XOXO,
NAILheartINK

My first topic! NAIL POLISH!!!! (squeals)

Dear Polishers,

First, I wanna discuss about the craziness of loving a nail polish.

If you're fat... you'll find anything to adore.
Since you don't have beautiful body to brag about. So you're gonna come up with shoes addict, bag goddess, accessories lovers... well, you have to admit that that's the only thing that could fit with a body that as big as ... (you fill in the blank)

So... after obsessed with shoes and accessories (I'm not a big fan of bag, simply because I don't like wearing one although I love BALENCIAGA BAGS and JUICY COUTURE cause they're so much yummy color in it) I realized that I also adore polish so much. Since I have pretty fingers (yes... I'm bragging it now) that looks good manicured.

And I started to buy this expensive nail polish like OPI, Orly, Sally Hansen... (It's always about the brand, right?!) until I got overly obsessed with LIMITED EDITION product and DEBORAH LIPPMANN's!!! (and Rescue Beauty Lounge, and OPI Shrek Forever...)

So here's the list of my wish list... DEBORAH LIPMANN, RESCUE BEAUTY SPONGEBOB SERIES, and OPI SHREK FOREVER AFTER... *update news! I move My Wish List to a page section that only talk about my wish list!

important notes: I took the picture from some website and forgot where I took them. Whoever you are... I'm sorry! I promise if I put someone's picture in my blog, I'll name where I grab those pictures! Hopefully one day I'll be able to produce all my pictures for this blog

Until then, Happy Polishing!

XOXO,
NAILheartINK
